Institute for Business Trends Analysis of the Borough of Manhattan Community College CUNY

The transformation of American business in the last quarter of the 20th Century has created dramatic changes in all industries. Many industries have found it difficult to find the higher skilled employees they need despite strong, well paying career opportunities because the public continues to hold out-dated perceptions.

New York City’s Career & Technical Education programs (formerly vocational education programs) have difficulty recruiting strong candidates for the very industries that have solid career opportunities for those with strong academic, technical and work readiness skills. This forum, organized with the support of the Graphic Communication Arts Advisory Commission, is the first of several designed to help communicate the career opportunities in the printing and graphic communications industry in the tri-state region, the types of skills required for successful careers in this industry, and the pathways to such careers.

Join us to discuss this very important educational topic.
